Getting up and running…

August 1, 2010

I’ve been involved in FOSS for four and a half years now and I’ve wanted to start blogging for over a year now. Finally got to it!

I’ve just returned from OSCON 2010. What a blast! I was impressed by all of the energy flowing about, carrying with it lots of great ideas. I’d like to get students to go at some point.

My goal for the fall is to take my Software Engineering students on an adventure in FOSS-land by having them develop a feature for a FOSS project. Current targets are Caribou (GNOME A11y) and something related to Multi-Level Health Information Modeling (MLHIM).
